Alfie Barker is a Leeds born/based writer and director who grew up making short films with his dog instead of going to uni.

His short HANGING ON was long-listed for a BIFA, shortlisted for a Grierson Award, premiering at TIFF, screening at BFI London Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand and won both Best British Short and UK Audience Award at Encounters. His fiction short HALF WAY funded by BFI Network stars SAMEENA JABEEN AHMED (Catch Me Daddy).

He is a previous BFI Future Film Award winner and Sundance Ignite Finalist. He is an alumni of Screen Yorkshire's FLEX, Creative UK’s ShortFLIX and the NFTS BFI Film Academy.

Alfie is developing his debut feature film, produced by Hollie Bryan, which has been selected for the prestigious TIFF Filmmaker Lab and Le Groupe Ouest's LIM: Less Is More.
