Alfie Barker is a Leeds born/raised writer and director who grew up making short films with his dog instead of going to university.

His short HANGING ON was long-listed for a BIFA, shortlisted for a Grierson Award, premiering at TIFF, screening at BFI London Film Festival and won both Best British Short and UK Audience Award at Encounters.

His short WARM, is inspired by a true story, features first time actors from Bradford - premiering at Leeds International Film Festival. He’s currently in post-production on a BFI fiction short and a YouTube funded project.

Alfie is a previous BFI Future Film Award winner. He was selected as a director on Screen Yorkshire's FLEX talent development, and is an alumni of BFI Film Academy (NFTS) & Creative UK’s ShortFLIX.
