Alfie Barker is a Leeds born/based writer and director who grew up making short films with his dog instead of going to uni.

His short HANGING ON was long-listed for a BIFA, shortlisted for a Grierson Award, premiering at TIFF, screening at BFI London Film Festival and won both Best British Short and UK Audience Award at Encounters.

Alfie is a previous BFI Future Film Award winner, Sundance Ignite Finalist and shortlisted for Sony Future Filmmaker Award 2023. He was selected as a director on Screen Yorkshire's FLEX 21’ talent development, also an alumni of Creative UK’s ShortFLIX and BFI Film Academy (National Film & Television School).

Currently, he is in post-production with BFI funded fiction short HALF-WAY and is developing his debut feature film.
